It connects customers with IKEA products through simple, affordable, and sustainable logistics solutions, optimizing replenishment, managing goods flow, sourcing capacities, and ensuring supply quality.

    Category Contract Logistics provides cost-effective logistics solutions that meet high service, safety, and sustainability standards, supporting the IKEA vision and business needs within the supply chain. It manages outsourced warehouse units, focusing on innovation and technology to improve logistics services.

    We are expanding our logistics business in South and South-East Asia and are strengthening our team in Port Klang, Malaysia.

    About the job

    Supply Chain Operations (SCO) delivers excellent transport and logistics solutions by optimizing replenishment, defining goods flow capacity, sourcing logistics capacities, managing goods flow, and securing supply quality.

    As a Business Developer, you will ensure alignment with strategic directions and business plans. You will develop relationships with logistics service providers, aiming to improve performance and competitiveness, and contribute to optimizing the value chain to serve more customers efficiently.

    Your key responsibilities include:

  1. Relationship and Performance: Managing business relationships with service providers, ensuring performance according to goals and KPIs, based on trust and transparency.
  2. Business & SP Development: Supporting service providers to improve performance and explore new business opportunities, including innovation and digitalization.
  3. SP Portfolio Management: Identifying and proposing new service providers, and guiding their development towards set goals.
  4. Business Opportunities & Cost Development: Participating in tenders and procurement activities, and supporting cost reduction initiatives.
  5. Market Intelligence: Staying informed on market conditions, industry trends, and legal frameworks, sharing insights internally.
  6. Action Plans & Projects: Developing annual plans with service providers and leading sourcing projects.
  7. Compliance: Ensuring adherence to agreements, legal, and security requirements.
  8. IKEA Ambassador: Representing IKEA externally, upholding its values and business approach.

Qualifications:

  • Deep knowledge of warehousing, logistics, market conditions, macroeconomic trends, and value chain analysis.
  • Experience in managing external partners, including legal aspects of warehouse agreements.
  • University degree in logistics, economics, business administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Fluency in English.
