Gradiant, an international end-to-end water solutions provider, has acquired Malaysia-based Sigma Water Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd to expand its regional operations throughout Southeast Asia and provide support to its project achievements in Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Sigma Water Engineering, based in Selangor, Malaysia, is an industrial water and wastewater treatment company with repeated success in delivering industrial water treatment systems in Food and Beverage, Oil and Gas, Glove Manufacturing, and other various water intensive industries. Additionally, Sigma Water has a strong manufacturing front with a fabrication and chemical storage facility also based in Malaysia along with established relationships with both global and local customers, contractors, and other resources supplying Gradiant with further reach and experience throughout the region.

Role Overview

The Plant Operator is responsible for the day-to-day monitoring, operation, and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) to ensure efficient and compliant performance. This includes maintaining accurate records such as operator log sheets, chemical usage, parameter analysis, and service reports. The operator must adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures (S.O.P) and ensure the plant operates at optimum levels. A strong commitment to health and safety protocols, as outlined by the client, is essential. The role also requires flexibility to perform other tasks as assigned by the superior.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate the Wastewater Treatment Systems efficiently.
• Perform routine maintenance and ensure all equipment is in proper working condition.
• Prepare and maintain log sheets including chemical consumption, parameter analysis, and service reports.
• Operate the WWTP in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Ensure plant operations meet performance standards at all times.
• Comply with all Health & Safety Procedures outlined by the client.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Superior.
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum qualification: SPM / O Level / SKM Level 1, 2 or 3, or equivalent.
• Willing to work on a 2-shift rotation.
• Physically fit and able to work in an industrial plant environment.
• Prior experience in wastewater treatment or plant operation is an advantage.
• Able to start on a contract basis.
