Job Opportunity: Lead Data Science Researcher

A software development company specializing in analytical services for healthcare clients is seeking a talented, long-term Lead Data Science Researcher.

Join an international team of top professionals dedicated to creating products that enhance the quality of medical services.

We are looking for a Lead Data Science Researcher who excels in research-heavy environments, enjoys exploring new frontiers, and can lead a small team of two data scientists. Your role will involve guiding high-impact research initiatives, advancing applied machine learning—particularly with medical and clinical data—and transforming complex problems into innovative solutions.

This position offers a unique opportunity to pioneer new ideas and applications beyond merely optimizing existing solutions.

What we’re looking for:
  1. Exceptional analytical and statistical skills, comfortable with uncertainty, inference, and experimentation;
  2. Strong background in various ML areas (classification, regression, recommender systems, text data, clustering, etc.);
  3. Solid experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow;
  4. Excellent Python skills (beyond Jupyter Notebooks) with the ability to develop clean, testable, production-ready code;
  5. Familiarity with medical or life science data is a strong plus;
  6. Expertise in SQL, Pandas, Scikit-learn, and modern data workflows;
  7. Comfortable working in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
Bonus points for experience with:
  1. State-of-the-art NLP models, Transformers, and Agentic Approaches for mixed (temporal and text) data analysis and summarization;
  2. Pipeline orchestration tools like Airflow, Argo, etc.;
  3. Experience with Anomaly Detection and Forecasting with explainability for temporal and mixed data;
  4. Intermediate+ English proficiency for written communication with international teams and clients.

Join a mission-driven team working at the intersection of data, medicine, and impact. Work on meaningful challenges with long-term benefits for public health and healthcare quality. Collaborate with top-tier experts in a culture that values curiosity, autonomy, and innovation. This is a fully remote-friendly role with flexibility and trust at its core.
