Job description

Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, or equivalent in Finance/Accountancy/Banking, Business Studies/Administration/Management.

Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English.

Minimum of 2 years' working experience in a related field is required.

Applicants must be willing to work in Taman Mayang, Petaling Jaya.

Working hours: Monday - Friday (5 days).

Job Responsibilities
  1. Process purchase orders by liaising with suppliers or principals.
  2. Review stock purchases by monitoring market conditions, current stock levels, lead times, potential price increases, and anticipated customer orders.
  3. Ensure all purchases are approved within company guidelines.
  4. Avoid overstocking by coordinating with the product and warehouse managers on slow-moving inventory.
  5. Track annual purchasing commitments to principals.
  6. Assist in sourcing locally and overseas for new goods not supplied by regular suppliers.
  7. Arrange air and sea freight; liaise with forwarders on services and costs.
  8. Manage local and overseas purchase inquiries.
  9. Ensure insurance declarations are completed for purchases.
  10. Cost goods purchased, including freight, and monitor costs to keep operations within budget.
  11. Organize the purchasing team to ensure balanced workload, coverage, and training.
  12. Regularly review processes to streamline operations, improve throughput, and reduce paperwork.
  13. Coordinate seamlessly with logistics, warehouse, and production departments.
  14. Monitor price fluctuations and communicate changes to suppliers as necessary.
  15. Update vendors on specific requirements and company objectives for long-term benefits.
  16. Work with vendors to ensure just-in-time delivery.
  17. Study production lines and acquire extensive product knowledge.
  18. Identify alternative suppliers and seek new products to add value through cost reduction.
