Human Resources Manager: Key Responsibilities
Key Responsibility 1: Recruitment, Onboarding and Talent Management
- Responsible for campus recruitment activities, including advertising, candidate shortlisting, interviews, and offer generation. Collaborates with the campus Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and department heads to understand skills and competencies required to fill vacant roles.
- Responsible for staff onboarding, implementing structured and engaging processes to facilitate staff transition.
- Ensure staff compliance with safeguarding requirements, including background checks and training.
- Manage visa applications for expatriate staff.
- Contribute to the school’s social media presence by sharing updates that promote culture, achievements, and employer branding.
- Collaborate with leadership and marketing to highlight staff milestones and recruitment initiatives.
Key Responsibility 2: Performance Management and Talent Development
- Implement and enhance performance management policies for academic and administrative staff, aligning with regional and central standards.
- Promote a culture of two-way feedback and interactive goal setting.
- Manage communications and documentation related to HR processes, maintaining records in HRIS.
- Assist in managing poor performance and succession planning.
- Drive employee retention strategies.
- Lead Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities for staff, including delivering training modules.
Key Responsibility 3: Staff Engagement and Surveys
- Coordinate participation in staff surveys and analyze results to identify focus areas.
- Organize employee engagement activities such as rewards schemes, sports events, and celebrations.
Key Responsibility 4: Payroll, Benefits, HR Records, and Compliance
- Oversee payroll processing in compliance with statutory requirements.
- Manage employee benefits and insurance schemes.
- Maintain HR records and generate reports from HRIS, including turnover and workforce demographics.
- Support HRIS implementation and ensure visa and employment law compliance.
Key Responsibility 5: HR Advisory and Continuous Improvement
- Provide HR support and advisory services to management and staff.
- Collaborate on streamlining HR processes, tracking HR metrics, and analyzing trends.
- Conduct exit interviews and provide insights for retention strategies.
- Oversee responsibilities of the School Nurse.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Stakeholders:
- Internal: Campus Principal, SLT, HR team.
- External: Auditors, HR agencies, regulators.
Line Management:
- Reports to: HR Executive and School Nurse.
- HR Manager reports to the Campus Principal.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Minimum five (5) years’ experience in HR leadership, preferably in education or services sectors.
- Strong communication, conflict resolution, planning, and confidentiality skills.
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR software proficiency.
- Ability to learn and operate HRIS effectively.
