Qualifications

Job description

Position Overview:

The Operators will perform the physical tasks involved in the staging of materials, parts, and supplies for manufacturing processes, the physical tasks for manual assembly and/or in process component/sub-assembly inspection. The material management, manual assembly and inspection needs to occur in a fast-paced environment in order to facilitate continuous production.


During the Plant start-up this position will work during the core business hours. Business needs may necessitate the need to adjust shift start and end times and will require working in shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Work together with a team of material handlers, production operators and leaders to supply material to automation manufacturing cells, execute manual manufacturing operations and perform in-process inspections needed for continuous production.
  • Works from specifications, work orders, work instructions and general instructions from Production Supervisor/Team Leads.
  • Communicate effectively with production leaders to meet the needs of individual manufacturing operations.
  • Timely and accurately stage materials, execute manual assembly steps and perform inspections in accordance with the production schedule.
  • Assemble plastic, metal and other components as instructed by manual procedures.
  • Fill trays with parts and components from pallets/machines.
  • Manage Kanban or WIP (Work in Progress) as needed via packing, transportation, etc.
  • Safely follow standard operating procedures and follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Notifies Team Leader or Production Supervisor of any discrepancies to ensure quality standards and safety of operations are always maintained.
  • Excellent attention to detail, good organization, and capable of working independently with minimal instruction from production supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean work environment suitable for medical device manufacturing and cleanroom production.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum SPM in any related field of study.
  • Rotating Shifts

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • Preferably 1 –2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment in Manufacturing or Manufacturing Support environment.
  • Clean room working experience is an added advantage
  • Ability to properly follow document/written and verbal work instructions.
  • Experience working in the medical device industry.
  • Self-starter capable of dealing with a variety of tasks in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Experience in a start-up production environment is a plus.
  • Must be proficient in Malay & Basic English language to be able to read documentation, communicate, and write.
  • Ability to understand and follow standard operational procedures and follow written and oral instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor and other employees.
  • Good understanding of math and arithmetic skills and able to count accurately.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Able to perform tasks with accuracy and reliability.
  • Must be familiar with ergonomic lifting techniques.

Physical Requirements (if applicable):

  • Must be able to stand and sit up to 12 hours a day.
  • Pre-employment medical health check is required / Fit to work for this job by doctor
  • No history of back pain, neck pain, cervical or other related issues.
  • No history of drug use. Regular checks will be performed.
