Job Summary

This role is responsible for the accurate, timely, and compliant management of end-to-end Payroll Operations. This includes overseeing payroll processing, ensuring high-quality service delivery to employees and stakeholders, and maintaining strict adherence to business policies, procedures, and all relevant legislative requirements. The Payroll Specialist handles complex payroll scenarios and contributes to process improvement.

Key Accountabilities

Payroll and Claims Processing:

  • Manage the accurate and timely payroll process.
  • Perform complex payroll calculations, including wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and taxes, including pro-rations, new hires, terminations, salary changes, deductions, and other relevant payroll information.
  • Process and validate employee reimbursements, expense claims, and benefits claims.
  • Validate and process invoices related to insurance and health plans, resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Manage Budgeting and forecasting for monthly employee resource cost, including Annual Operating Plan and Long Range Plan.

Data Management And Compliance

  • Prepare, analyze, and submit internal and external reports, documentation, and reconciliations.
  • Manage internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll legislation, tax laws, and company policies; research and interpret complex regulations.
  • Configure and maintain HR systems for payroll processing cycles.

Payroll Technology

  • Analyse data and payroll process requirements and translate them into automation design
  • Develop, test, implement, operate and maintain data analytics and/or automation solutions
  • Strengthen and establish internal controls using automation solutions for audit and compliance

Employee Support & Service

  • Resolve complex inquiries and discrepancies regarding employee payroll, claims, insurance and health plans inquiries and discrepancies.
  • Manage and resolve employee queries related to claims, insurance, and health plans.
  • Stakeholder management, and perform other related duties as assigned to support the overall payroll and departmental function.
  • Ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and organization of payroll records and files.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in Payroll, or a similar role.
  • Proven ability to manage the full payroll lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and digital tools for workforce and benefits administration.
  • Solid understanding of Payroll, HR compliance, risk assessment, and audit procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements and digitalization initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving capabilities and resourceful.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a growth and customer-focused mindset.
