Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC)

The Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) is an independent body established under the Competition Commission Act 2010 to enforce the Competition Act 2010. The acts aim to promote economic development by encouraging fair competition and protecting consumer interests.

Main Functions

The MyCC is empowered to implement and enforce the Competition Act 2010, issue guidelines, conduct studies, and educate the public on competition benefits.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must be Malaysian citizens, at least 18 years old, and possess relevant academic qualifications. For the Director position, candidates should have at least 15 years of experience in strategic planning or related fields, knowledge of competition law, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience in international relations and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Policy Development and Analysis: Lead formulation and review of competition policies, analyze trends, and collaborate with stakeholders.
  2. Strategic Planning: Develop and monitor strategic initiatives to promote fair competition.
  3. International Affairs: Represent MyCC in international forums, foster partnerships, and monitor global trends.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with industry, consumer groups, and government, negotiate agreements, and coordinate international attendance.
  5. Communication and Advocacy: Manage communication strategies, media relations, and stakeholder engagement activities.
