Job description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Technician to join our dairy manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and operating machinery, ensuring product quality, and maintaining production standards in a fast-paced environment. The technician will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe production of dairy products while adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Operate and monitor equipment in the dairy production line, including pasteurizers, homogenizers, and filling machines.
  2. Ensure the smooth running of daily production schedules and workflows, making adjustments as necessary.
  3. Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve production issues to minimize downtime.
  4. Conduct routine checks on products, equipment, and materials to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  5. Perform sampling and testing of products to ensure they meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  6. Document production processes and quality checks accurately.
  7. Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including cleaning, lubrication, and basic troubleshooting.
  8. Follow established safety protocols and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
  9. Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality concerns to management promptly.
  10. Assist with inventory management, ensuring raw materials and packaging are available for production.
  11. Monitor and report stock levels of key materials to the supervisor.
  12. Ensure compliance with food safety and quality assurance regulations such as HACCP, GMP, and FDA standards.
  13. Complete production logs, maintenance records, and quality documentation as required.
  14. Participate in audits and inspections as needed.
  15. Work collaboratively with the production, maintenance, and quality assurance departments to achieve production targets.
  16. Participate in ongoing training and development programs to improve skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
  1. Diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or an associate degree in a relevant field.
  2. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably within the dairy or food industry.
  3. Knowledge of dairy processing, equipment, and quality standards is a plus.
  4. Familiarity with health and safety regulations, particularly in food manufacturing.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  6. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  7. Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  8. Ability to work flexible hours, including shift work or overtime as needed.
  9. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on continuous production.
  10. Compliance with all health and safety standards is required.
