Job Description: Assistant Finance Manager

The Assistant Finance Manager will support the Finance Manager in managing hospital financial operations, including front office services, credit control, insurance processing, billing, submission, and collections. Responsibilities include overseeing back office processes such as accounts payable, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Front Office and Credit Control
  • Master the overall finance workflow from admission to discharge, including credit control.
  • Ensure proper process flow from order to cash and effective communication within departments and with external parties.
  • Monitor discharge processes, billing, insurance queries, debtor management, and promotional activities.
  • Supervise and guide finance personnel in daily operations.
  • Facilitate communication across departments and resolve credit control and front office issues.
  • Provide professional customer service and prepare analytical reports.
Back Office Management (Accounts Payable)
  • Manage accounts payable activities, vendor payments, and maintain accurate records.
  • Oversee petty cash and refund processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Assist with fixed asset management and ensure SOP compliance.
Staff Development and Performance
  • Coach and mentor finance staff, participate in hiring, and evaluate performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in skills and processes relevant to healthcare finance.
Educational and Experience Requirements
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of hospital finance experience.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
