The Project Manager in the Project & Planning Division has the primary responsibility to support the Senior Project Manager in overseeing and managing various projects within the division. This role is crucial in ensuring the successful execution of projects by coordinating activities, resources, and progress information. Additionally, the Project Manager plays a vital role in driving project success through effective coordination, communication, and support, while assisting in managing all aspects of Project Planning, Execution, and Closure for all assigned projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Serve as the client representative, leading design, layout planning, scheduling, and development for property/construction projects.
2. Collaborate with all interdepartmental teams to align project deliverables with user demands.
3. Provide expert guidance on design, planning, and management of architectural, civil, and structural projects.
4. Review and provide feedback on consultants’ detailed drawings, plans, and schedules, ensuring cost efficiency and technical accuracy.
5. Optimize design and construction plans to achieve cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
6. Manage the tender process, including preparation of contract documentation, contractor liaison, and oversight from award to completion.
7. Monitor site progress to ensure adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
8. Coordinate with subcontractors to maintain project timelines and compliance with specifications.
9. Conduct site inspections, measurements, and surveys to ensure work aligns with approved plans.
10. Assess the technical feasibility of new projects during planning, tendering, or pre-qualification stages.
11. Liaise effectively with consultants, subcontractors, liaison teams, and government authorities to meet design compliance and delivery goals.
12. Support in planning and monitoring project progress, tracking milestones, and identifying potential risks or delays.
13. Facilitate communication and collaboration among project team members and stakeholders.
14. Assist in identifying and resolving project issues and challenges, providing support in making informed decisions.
15. Support quality assurance and control efforts to ensure project deliverables meet standards and requirements.
16. Assist in risk management by identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.

REQUIREMENTS

• Strategic planning and budget management skills.
• Technical proficiency in design and construction oversight.
• Stakeholder engagement, including with local authorities and relationship management.
• Experience in project scheduling, planning, execution, closure, and cost optimization.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
• 15 to 20 years of experience in project planning and development within the property industry, focusing on township development, landed properties, infrastructure, high-rise, and integrated residential/commercial projects.
• Proven expertise in managing end-to-end property development processes.
• Strong understanding of regulatory guidelines and compliance requirements set by relevant authorities.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).
• Demonstrated leadership, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Independent, resourceful, and innovative with a collaborative team-oriented mindset.
• Ability to adapt quickly, promote innovation, and support business strategic planning.
