Job description

The Senior Manager, Corporate Development is responsible for driving and executing strategic stakeholder communications for Hibiscus Petroleum. This includes managing investor relations, media relations, corporate branding, and Group-level CSR efforts. The role requires a strong command of financial and ESG-related content, excellent writing and presentation skills, and the ability to interact confidently with internal leadership, analysts, fund managers, media, and regulators. The Senior Manager will act as a key advisor to the VP of Corporate Department and contribute to the Group’s capital markets positioning, ESG narrative, and reputation management. Candidates with backgrounds in equity research, fund management, financial communications, or corporate strategy are encouraged to apply.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Investor Relations
  2. Lead the development, analysis, and upkeep of investor materials, including quarterly results decks, corporate presentations, fact sheets, and investor Q&As.
  3. Interpret and communicate key financial, operational, and ESG data to capital markets stakeholders.
  4. Lead investor outreach efforts by organising and participating in investor briefings, one-on-one meetings, and roadshows to communicate the Group’s strategic direction and performance.
  5. Serve as a liaison with institutional investors, analysts, and shareholder groups; support or lead investor briefings, roadshows, and conferences.
  6. Monitor market sentiment, peer developments, and share performance to provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  7. Oversee content and enhancements to investor-related sections of the corporate website and online platforms.
  8. Support or lead the preparation of Board-level investor relations updates and market positioning materials.
  1. Corporate Communications/Media Relations
  2. Shape and oversee the Group’s external messaging, media releases, and internal communications.
  3. Develop high-quality content for the Annual Report, AGM materials, and shareholder communications.
  4. Monitor media coverage and market perception of the Group; advise on reputational risks or opportunities.
  5. Support or lead communications for key events, including earnings releases, M&A announcements, and press briefings.
  6. Ensure consistency of message and brand tone across all touchpoints.
  1. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
  2. Develop and manage the Group CSR strategy in alignment with ESG priorities.
  3. Oversee the planning, implementation, and impact assessment of CSR programmes.
  4. Lead annual CSR budgeting and ensure initiatives are measurable, auditable, and aligned with Group values.
  5. Ensure compliance with governance policies, including the Anti-Bribery & Corruption Policy and Code of Conduct.
  6. Promote CSR engagement within the company and lead the creation of impactful storytelling for external platforms.
  7. Support ESG-related disclosures and data requests from analysts, investors, and rating agencies.
  1. Strategic & Operational Leadership
  2. Act as deputy to the Head of Department when required, including in internal and external meetings.
  3. Provide coaching, supervision, and task delegation to junior team members and/or external vendors.
  4. Lead or support budgeting, procurement, and vendor management for the department.
  5. Drive continuous improvement and innovation across IR, Comms, and CSR initiatives.
  6. Support the VP of Corporate Development in strategic initiatives such as fundraising, corporate planning, and cross-functional projects.
  7. Other duties as assigned.
KEY SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Qualification:
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, engineering, marketing, public relations, communications, or other energy-related fields or a related field from recognised universities.
  • Experience:
  • At least 8 years’ experience in corporate communications, investor relations, or public/media relations, preferably in a public-listed company. Experience in the upstream oil & gas sector or with international exposure is an added advantage.
  • Prior exposure to public-listed companies, energy sector, or capital markets is strongly preferred.
  • Proven experience engaging with institutional investors, analysts, and external stakeholders.
  • Track record of developing and executing communication strategies.
