Job description

Responsibilities:

• Monitor progress and performance of Contractor and instruct Contractor on necessary procedures and actions to be taken to improve progress and performance.
• Oversee Contractor’s compliance with site safety requirements, the traffic management plan and the environmental management plan.
• Report on the QA/QC of material and construction works undertaken by the Contractor.
• Oversee site discussion on construction-related issues and attend site meetings to resolve matters.
• Monitor and highlight any contractual implications arising from any design change requests made by JKR Sarawak, the Consultant or the Contractor.
• Advise JKR Sarawak on the performance of the Contractor, Consultant and Nominated Sub-Contractor.
• Liaise with the Consultant to ensure any information requested by the Contractor (e.g; revised Construction Drawings or Site Instructions/Variation Orders) is provided in a timely manner.
• Verify Contractor’s progress claim.
• Review the Consultant’s assessment of the Contractor’s EOT (Extension of Time) application and submit recommendation for JKR Sarawak’s approval.
• Arrange and coordinate the final inspection and handover of completed work as applicable.
• Verify and finalise the Final Account.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 12years of experience in construction works.
• Experience in bridge construction is an advantage.
• Good communication and negotiation skill with a strong problem solving approach.
