Job Description

Are you ready to dive into the world of collateral management and credit risk mitigation? At our firm, you'll play a crucial role in client financing and fee-based activities, supporting a diverse range of products like Derivatives, Forex, and Prime Brokerage. Every day, we generate and distribute around 4,000 margin calls, manage call disputes, and ensure accurate regulatory reporting. With collateral balances ranging from $200Bn to $300Bn, your expertise will be vital in maintaining our high standards and delivering exceptional service.

As an Analyst in the Collateral Management Operations team, you will be responsible for engaging with both internal and external clients, resolving relationship issues and significant matters on behalf of the business. You will provide collateral coverage for all APAC-based clients from Malaysia, including those in Japan. Your duties will include issuing, receiving, and monitoring margin calls for OTC Derivatives and Loans, ensuring compliance with collateral agreements. You will manage and escalate collateral disputes to senior management and credit risk teams, record, reconcile, and control cash or securities used as collateral. Managing a portfolio of clients, you will offer consultation and expert advice, and oversee collateral on principal trades facing clearing houses.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Focus on clients with sensitive relationships, such as those in Japan and hedge funds.
  2. Generate collateral statements and send calls to clients for both standard and non-standard agreements, ensuring timely follow-up.
  3. Answer incoming collateral calls from clients and compare them to JP Morgan's exposure.
  4. Agree on the amount and type of collateral to be moved.
  5. Follow up on any counterparty fails.
  6. Reconcile and resolve disputes, especially with large disputes or credit-sensitive customers.
  7. Agree on coupons due on securities held as collateral.
  8. Complete month-end tasks, including computing and agreeing on interest for any cash collateral held or delivered.
  9. Resolve incoming queries regarding a client’s portfolio in a timely manner and escalate issues as needed.
  10. Manage margin-related cash and security settlements.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  1. Degree holder in Finance or Accounting.
  2. Excellent client communication skills and telephone manner, with a strong ability to build client relationships.
  3. Highly numerate with good keyboard and core system (Outlook, Excel, Word) skills.
  4. Strategic thinker, able to review and implement process improvements.
  5. Working knowledge of OTC Derivative products or similar background.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  1. Minimum of 3 years of experience preferred in the Banking and Finance industry.
