Job summary

Jabil is seeking an AI/ML engineer to design and optimize edge AI models for resource-constrained devices in Penang, Malaysia. You will work with vision, audio, and motion data, selecting suitable edge platforms and ensuring integration with hardware teams.

Responsibilities include building efficient inferences, developing MLOps for CI/CD, and benchmarking performance while staying current with AI hardware trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related quantitative field.
• 3+ years of experience in AI/ML development with a focus on embedded systems or edge computing (e.g. Raspberry Pi).
• Proficiency in Python and C++ and hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow Lite, PyTorch Mobile).
• Solid understanding of neural network architectures, computer vision, and NLP.
• Experience optimizing AI models for edge deployment (quantization, pruning, distillation).
• Familiarity with edge computing platforms and hardware accelerators (e.g. Hailo, NVIDIA Jetson, Google Coral).
• Experience with RTOS and embedded software development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize AI/ML models for deployment on resource-constrained edge devices.
• Implement efficient inference engines and real-time data processing pipelines at the edge.
• Work with sensor data (vision, audio, motion) to build robust AI applications.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to select edge computing platforms and ensure integration.
• Optimize model performance for power, latency, and memory on target hardware.
• Develop MLOps for CI/CD and monitoring of edge AI models.
• Conduct performance benchmarking and validation of edge AI solutions.
• Stay updated on edge computing, AI hardware, and ML advances.
• Provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams.
• Document designs, architectures, and implementation details thoroughly.
