Key Account Manager - QSR and Food Service

Are you an ambitious business professional with a proven track record in the Malaysia Foodservice market, managing national key chained accounts? At Boncafe, we have an exciting opportunity for a Key Account Manager. We seek an experienced individual with national coverage in Malaysia. Reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with the marketing team, this dynamic role involves new business development and account management. You will develop strong relationships with channel-specific key chained accounts in fast food and local QSR chains, understanding their business needs and offering solutions to establish Boncafe's presence.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement business plans for assigned QSR customers, identifying and pursuing sales opportunities in core and NPD products, and executing account plans.
  2. Collaborate with product management and NPD teams to deliver compelling, customer-specific product propositions.
  3. Coordinate internal support teams to serve customers effectively by deploying sales, technical, and marketing resources.
  4. Build strong, efficient relationships with key QSR customers across channels, including chefs, F&B managers, owners, and C-suite executives, ensuring high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
  5. Achieve sales targets set for key accounts and the QSR channel.
  6. Drive value creation in projects with target key accounts.
  7. Conduct menu ideation sessions with key accounts and ensure timely launch of LTOs.
  8. Deeply understand customer needs, strategies, market insights, and business drivers to develop aligned account plans.
  9. Ensure timely submission of accurate sales forecasts for assigned accounts.
  10. Maintain thorough knowledge of company products, competitors, and market intelligence.
  11. Prepare monthly key account reports and analyses.
  12. Negotiate contracts and manage tender processes with key clients.
Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have experience working for a manufacturer, collaborating with internal and external multidisciplinary teams including marketing, NPD, operations, production, and quality control. A creative mindset for customer acquisition and upselling, with a focus on increasing customer lifetime value, is essential.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field
  • Minimum 5 years of sales and Key Account Management experience within the B2B food industry, preferably in QSR, Foodservice, or Food Processing sectors
  • Familiarity with NPD processes and leading cross-functional teams to meet customer goals
  • Understanding of Foodservice trading terms
  • Results-oriented, persistent, and structured in opportunity pursuit
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally
  • Intermediate knowledge of budgeting and forecasting
  • Strong sales process and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build relationships at multiple levels within customer organizations
