Job description

This role will assist the Finance Manager and be responsible for the full set of accounts of Malaysia, which is in the business of insurance technology. The candidate needs to be familiar with the insurance industry and common taxes in Malaysia. It also requires the candidate to understand the business models of various partnerships well by perusing the commercial contracts and liaising with the commercial team.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Monitor full set of accounting functions (AR, AP, GL), ensure timely collections and payments, and work closely with the commercial and operations teams.
  2. Ensure timely tax reporting and payments, and monitor tax planning to achieve tax efficiency.
  3. Perform bank reconciliations.
  4. Oversee and record, ensuring accuracy of all receivables and revenue accruals.
  5. Prepare tax filings related to purchasing taxes.
  6. Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  7. Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
  8. Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
  9. Monitor and implement internal controls to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
  10. Assist in system upgrades, automation projects, and process improvements.
  11. Support any ad hoc tasks and projects as assigned by a manager.
