Project Regional Head (Malaysia)

Location: Johor & Penang

Main duties:

  1. Provide Leadership & Strategic Oversight - Lead and drive multiple projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all initiatives are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in line with strategic objectives. Establish clear project goals, performance benchmarks, and best practices to optimize execution.
  2. Comprehensive Project Planning & Execution - Develop and implement detailed project plans, outlining scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Ensure smooth coordination with regulatory authorities, securing necessary approvals and permits to facilitate project progress without delays.
  3. Contract & Tender Management - Oversee the tendering and procurement process, ensuring contracts are awarded competitively and aligned with project requirements. Maintain stringent budget control, address technical challenges promptly, and enforce contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
  4. Risk Identification & Mitigation - Continuously monitor project progress, proactively identify potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to prevent disruptions. Ensure contingency plans are in place to handle unforeseen challenges efficiently.
  5. Seamless Project Handover & Compliance - Supervise project completion processes, ensuring comprehensive documentation—including as-built drawings, operation manuals, warranties, and compliance reports—is properly compiled for smooth handover and operational readiness.
  6. Stakeholder & Relationship Management - Engage and coordinate with key stakeholders, including consultants, contractors, joint-venture partners, government agencies, and clients. Foster strong relationships to enhance collaboration, resolve conflicts, and drive project success.
  7. Project Reporting & Performance Review - Prepare and present detailed project reports, progress updates, and key performance indicators to senior management at headquarters. Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  8. Additional Responsibilities - Undertake any other tasks or assignments as directed by management, contributing to overall project and organizational success.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 20 years of relevant experience in project management of construction and development projects.
  • Preferably candidates have experience in industrial development projects.
  • Strong knowledge in reviewing technical drawings, construction methodologies, project management, building regulation, project implementation and tender processes.
  • Extensive experience in project planning, scheduling & control.
  • Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills with proven track record of completing projects within budget, time and quality.
