A leading company in the HVAC/R manufacturing sector is seeking an Assistant Manager – Industrial Relations. This role involves managing HR processes, employee relations, and training initiatives to enhance workforce effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of HR experience, particularly in a manufacturing environment. Assist in managing the performance appraisal process, providing support and guidance to ensure effective evaluations and recommend talent development strategies, including succession planning management. Analyse HR data, prepare relevant reports and make recommendations.
Training & Development:
Design and implement training strategies to address organisational needs while developing and maintaining SOPs, policies and process flows.
Create annual training plans based on identified requirements, assess training needs through surveys, interviews and consultations with managers. Develop and manage the training department's budget, tracking expenses and allocating resources efficiently.
Collaborate with subject matter experts (including training providers, government agencies, universities, colleges, etc.) to design and deliver specific training modules.
Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, counselling, and grievances. Maintain good industrial harmony by conducting investigations, mediating conflicts, and facilitating resolutions between parties. Support and coordinate domestic inquiry processes and ensure proper documentation of misconduct cases. Provide advisory support to management on labour laws, disciplinary actions, and employment regulations.
Organise employee engagement activities, propose welfare improvements, conduct focus group discussions, lead employee engagement surveys and recognition programs. Maintain positive employee relations through active communication, engagement initiatives, and issue resolution. Participate in HR projects or employee engagement activities as assigned.
Business Partnering:
Strengthen cross-functional collaboration through partnering with other department heads to execute HR initiatives. Liaise with external stakeholders such as labour departments, unions (if applicable), and legal advisors when required.
HR Development:
Provide team leadership by managing section efficiency and coaching HR staff.
Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements:
Sound knowledge of Malaysian Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act, and other relevant regulations.
Ability to manage various HR processes including Industrial Relations, Employee Relations, and Welfare & Benefits.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and handle sensitive situations with discretion.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Requirements:
Possess a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or any equivalent field.
At least 5 years of relevant experience in HR operations, with strong exposure to Industrial and Employee Relations. Experience in the manufacturing environment is an added advantage.
Sound knowledge of Malaysian Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act, and other relevant regulations.
Ability to manage various HR processes including Industrial Relations, Employee Relations, and Welfare & Benefits.
