As we expand across APAC and beyond, we seek a Global Payroll Specialist based in Malaysia to ensure our team members are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance across multiple countries. You will collaborate closely with our international Finance, HR, and Operations teams, serving as a payroll expert.

This position is ideal for an experienced, detail-oriented professional confident working independently across borders. You will support countries like Malaysia, Singapore, China, and Australia, with opportunities to expand your expertise as we grow.

What You'll Do:
  1. Process payroll for multiple APAC countries (Malaysia, Singapore, China, Australia, and Japan), ensuring accuracy and compliance with local tax, social security, and employment laws.
  2. Manage payroll inputs such as salaries, bonuses, benefits, stock compensation, and statutory deductions.
  3. Coordinate with HR and Finance to align payroll systems like BambooHR, financial reporting, and payroll processes.
  4. Support both salaried employees and contractors, ensuring proper employment classifications and compliance.
  5. Provide responsive payroll support to employees, resolving queries professionally.
  6. Validate invoices from payroll vendors and oversee third-party payments.
  7. Prepare payroll reports, audits, reconciliations, and statutory filings for each region.
  8. Stay informed about regional tax legislation and suggest process improvements or compliance updates.
What You Have:
  1. 3+ years of experience managing multi-country payroll, especially in APAC markets such as Malaysia, Singapore, China, Japan, and Australia.
  2. Strong understanding of regional tax structures, wage types, and statutory employment requirements.
  3. Ability to work remotely and independently, collaborating across time zones and functions.
  4. Experience with payroll systems and proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
  5. High integrity, discretion, and attention to detail in handling sensitive information.
