Job Description
As an EHS Engineer, you play a crucial role in ensuring the environment, health, and safety of our workers in the workplace. You are entrusted with implementing workplace inspections, safety and health programs, and ensuring 100% compliance with all EHS-related acts and regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- Empowering Safety: Promote a safety culture within the organization.
- Workplace Inspection: Conduct inspections to identify unsafe acts and conditions, and implement improvements to prevent accidents.
- Risk Assessment: Review work activities, develop HIRARC, and implement risk control measures.
- Permit System: Review, issue, monitor, and close work permits for vendors and contractors.
- Safety Signage & Compliance: Monitor safety signage and employee compliance.
- Emergency Preparedness: Ensure fire fighting systems, PA systems, CCTV, and first aid kits are in place and functional.
- Emergency Response: Provide response during emergencies and act as incident commander.
- Emergency Drills: Plan and conduct drills such as fire, chemical spills, and first aid.
- Machine Safety: Implement machine safety programs, including machine buy-off.
- Training: Provide EHS orientation and refresher trainings.
- Permits & Inspections: Ensure timely renewal of EHS permits and facilitate inspections like OSHWA and factory audits.
- Safety & Health Committee: Organize meetings and consult employees on safety matters.
- Accident Investigation: Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
- Equipment Safety: Ensure forklift drivers are competent and equipment like automatic guided vehicles are operated safely.
- Health & Hygiene: Assist in health programs, including CEM, LEV monitoring, audiometric testing, and surveillance.
- Noise & Chemical Compliance: Manage hearing conservation and review chemical classifications, SDS, and labels.
- Environmental Monitoring: Inspect LEV systems, manage waste, and promote environmental conservation programs.
- Documentation & Support: Maintain records, support ISO 13485 initiatives, and assist in other roles as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma in Environment, Safety & Health, or related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Observant, independent worker, knowledgeable in EHS regulations, good communicator.
- Report and presentation skills, problem-solving skills.
- Languages: Bahasa Melayu and English.
