Job summary

A leading company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced accountant to oversee daily transactions, prepare financial statements, and manage compliance with regulations. The role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including Mandarin-speaking clients. Qualifications

  • More than 10 years of hands-on experience in a professional accounting or corporate services firm preferred.

Job description

Maintain and oversee daily accounting transactions and activities including AR & AP

Maintain and prepare full set of financial accounts regularly and manage cash and bank expense records.

Responsible for preparing bank reconciliation, expense reconciliation, monthly breakdowns of balance sheet items, amortization and other management reports required by management.

Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders, complying with regulatory requirements.

Supervise accounts executives to ensure all accounting records are kept accurately and on a timely basis

Timely follow up on all outstanding issues

Planning, implementing and supervising the company’s financial strategy

Ensure compliance of company policies, accounting standards and Government polices

Preparing a comprehensive budget that aligns with the project goals.

Prepares withholding tax reports and statutory forms and ensure timely and accurate submission to local tax authorities.

Financial audit preparation and coordination the audit process.

Participate in other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.

Analyzing financial reports and making recommendations for identified problems or general financial decisions

Any task assigned by Management from time to time

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, ACCA or equivalent is preferred

More than 10 years of hands-on experience in a professional accounting or corporate services firm preferred

Good problem-solving skills

Knowledgeable in accounting principles and practice.

Familiar with knowledge of relevant local laws, tax regulations and financial reporting standards

Meticulous, independent, proactive, responsible, and able to meet tight deadlines.

Strong communication skills in both English and Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.
