Site Leader / Manager - Wayfair Global Selling Asia Pacific Malaysia

Who We Are: Wayfair is reinventing the way people shop for their homes. Our team is building a best-in-class eCommerce business across our Asia market. We manage supplier relationships, partner with industry-leading manufacturers, and support their execution. Internally, we work closely with our operations team (supply chain, logistics, automation) and steer high-level strategy with our Buying, Merchandising, Pricing, and Marketing teams to drive results. We are seeking a Malaysia-based site leader/manager to help us build and grow our Malaysia market. You will define overarching goals and strategy for your category, problem-solve, articulate and execute tactical plans, and manage key business metrics.

What You'll Do:

  1. Build Wayfair’s local brand awareness and relationships with furniture associations, service providers, and suppliers.
  2. Develop and manage category strategy aligned with Wayfair’s goals, collaborating with North America and European category teams.
  3. Manage Malaysia-based suppliers, setting strategic goals, negotiating terms, and reviewing performance.
  4. Analyze supplier and category performance to inform tactical and strategic decisions, involving cross-functional teams.
  5. Negotiate with suppliers to optimize performance, costs, exclusivity, advertising, and strategic initiatives.
  6. Serve as an escalation point, including negotiations with C-suite members of external partners.
  7. Identify trends, problems, and opportunities within the category or supplier segment, collaborating with internal teams to implement changes.
  8. Manage and guide team members to achieve targets.
  9. Collaborate with core functional teams and understand brand positioning, strategic direction, product requirements, and quality standards.
  10. Attend trade shows, visit showrooms, factories, and travel as needed, including trips to the US and other global markets.

What You'll Need:

  • Fluent in English, Chinese, and Malay.
  • Proven success in stakeholder relationship development, collaboration, and negotiation across departments.
  • Analytical mindset with experience working with complex data for commercial recommendations.
  • Experience building business relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Successful track record in commercial negotiations.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with SQL, Tableau, and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  • Experience in home furniture, procurement, sourcing, quality assurance, or quality control is advantageous.
  • Preferably from a leading US/global retailer or sourcing company.
