Commodity Management Advisor (Cable Harness and PCBA)

Executes three to five-year plans & objectives.

Maintains responsibility for development and execution of strategies for strategic and/or high-dollar commodities or groups of commodities; focusing on quality, price/value determination, and timely delivery.

Accountable for projects or programs on a multi-functional, national, or regional basis; may lead a work group or project team, or provide advice and guidance in area of specialty to ensure quality, delivery, and cost objectives are met.

Sets tactical plans to achieve assigned goals within established professional standards, policies, objectives, and timelines; responsible for the quality of work delivered.

Drives continuous improvements across all functions, leads problem resolution of diverse scope based on analysis of facts and data, develops short and long-term plans and solutions, updates/sets policies to standardize processes; resolves conflicts effectively.

Builds cross-functional relationships, negotiates, persuades, and uses tact to gain support from key suppliers and customers to ensure success.

Establishes and drives strategic global bidding initiatives, ensuring all site interests are understood and considered; supports worldwide product pricing strategy and process.

Responsible for global negotiations of pricing, terms & conditions, and monitoring supplier performance; maintains supply continuity.

Conducts strategic analysis on pricing, market trends, suppliers, customers, competitors, contracts, and long-term agreements; manages complex commodities in a dynamic environment.

Ensures timely execution of commodity plans, supplier analysis, development, selection, quotation/contracting, and supplier relationship management within established processes and policies.

Acts as the primary interface with Celestica’s suppliers for relationship management, contract negotiations, business framework establishment, performance reviews, business development, and supplier awards programs.

Tracks and reports performance metrics regularly.

May act as site liaison to manage critical shortages, develop strategies for constrained commodities, represent the site, and manage related system changes affecting purchasing responsibilities.

Assists in developing training plans for new employees and mentoring them.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 5-7 years in the Semiconductor Industry.
  • Deep understanding of AP culture.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts, stocking programs, LT reductions, and supplier development.
  • Problem resolution and conflict management skills.
  • Mechanical Engineering background preferred.
  • Knowledge of global supply chain trends and influences on strategic commodities.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts and financial analysis.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • High integrity.
  • Challenges the status quo, adopts fact-based problem resolution, and implements continuous improvements.
  • Ability to build strong supplier and cross-functional relationships.
  • Ability to work independently with responsibility and urgency.
  • Effective in leading complex negotiations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong desire to learn and handle dynamic challenges.
  • Duties may be performed remotely.
  • May require extended sitting and visual concentration, and frequent overnight travel.
