Position: Economics & Commerce Teacher (KS3, KS4 & A Levels)
Department: Secondary School
Reports to: Head of Department / Principal

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated teacher to deliver high-quality teaching of Economics and Commerce across KS3, KS4, and A Level. The successful candidate will inspire students, foster a love for the subject, and equip learners with the analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills necessary for academic success and future pathways.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging lessons in line with the curriculum (KS3, KS4, and A Level).
  • Teach a range of topics in Economics and Commerce, adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Assess, monitor, and provide constructive feedback on students’ progress, ensuring high standards of attainment.
  • Prepare students for internal and external examinations, including IGCSE/GCSE and A-Level assessments.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports active learning and student participation.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, schemes of work, and enrichment activities within the department.
  • Maintain accurate records of students’ progress, attendance, and attainment in line with school policies.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues to support students’ learning and well-being.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, staff training, and professional development activities.
  • Uphold the values, ethos, and policies of the school, including safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Must possess at least Bachelor’s degree/Post Graduate, Professional Degree in Economics, Commerce, Business Studies, or a related field.
  • At least 3 year(s) of teaching experience in Economics and/or Commerce at KS3, KS4, and ideally A Level.
  • Well versed in the Cambridge IGCSE Syllabus
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students of varying abilities.
  • Excellent in English communication
  • A strong team player
  • Approachable and able to maintain good relationships with students and colleagues
