Responsibilities
Strategic:
- Support and execute strategic departmental and company goals:
a. Local part cost improvement
b. Localization of parts
- Sourcing and Procurement - Support development of local parts through execution of strategic sourcing and local parts development; in line with organizational and industry interests.
- Supplier Relationship Management - Build and enhance rapport with local suppliers to support departmental and company agendas
Operational:
- Sourcing of locally supplied parts for future models; following established process, procedures and guidelines of ASSB and UMWT, explore potential suppliers & Suppliers commercial issues management;
- Support as team member of project leader of future model development. As a project leader, manage the overall sourcing and development activities, prepare periodic reports and to be the focal point and responsibility of the assigned project. As a member, support the activities of the project leader and ensure timely delivery of expected deliverables;
- Cost improvement via Annual Price Review (APR) and Periodical Price Review (PPR);
- Support organizational requirement, as needed and reviews of suppliers/commodities/technologies/market conditions and others as required;
- Understand and monitor cost contributors to parts and support cost increase mitigation activities;
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Engineering with CGPA 3.5 and above;
- Analytical mindset with aptitude towards engineering/automotive;
- Basic understanding of procurement and governance;
- Strong speaker/presenter with excellent english communication level;
- Basic proficiency of Microsoft Office apps (SAP know-how is an added advantage);
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in related function;
- Ability to analyze and translate data into usable information via use of visual support;
- Basic understanding of TPS, 5S, Kaizen and other manufacturing tools are added advantage;
- Attention to details with positive attitude;
- Strong analytical mindset and has negotiation prowess
