Business Development Manager - Storage, Cybersecurity & Cloud Business

As the Business Development Manager, you will be a key driver in expanding our market presence and revenue within our portfolio of leading data protection and cybersecurity solutions. You will be responsible for identifying, recruiting, and enabling new reseller partners, as well as driving growth within our existing partner ecosystem with user engagements. This role requires a strong understanding of the IT channel, excellent relationship-building skills, business acumen, technical aptitude, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets in a technology distribution environment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Partner Acquisition: Identify, qualify, and recruit new reseller partners who align with our vendor portfolio and strategic growth objectives across Malaysia.
  2. Partner Enablement: Develop and execute onboarding and enablement programs for new partners, ensuring they have the necessary technical, sales, and marketing resources.
  3. Sales Growth: Collaborate with partners’ senior management to develop joint business plans, identify sales opportunities, and drive revenue growth.
  4. Vendor Relationship Management: Act as a key contact between the distributor, vendors, and partners, fostering strong relationships and communication.
  5. Market Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends, the competitive landscape, and vendor updates to identify opportunities and adapt strategies.
  6. Training and Support: Conduct product and sales training sessions for partners to enhance their capabilities.
  7. Sales and Marketing Initiatives: Work with the marketing team to develop partner-focused campaigns, events, and promotions to generate leads.
  8. Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless partner support and customer satisfaction.
  9. Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Forecast sales targets, track progress, and report on activities and achievements.
  10. Achieve Targets: Meet or exceed sales targets and KPIs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development or channel sales within the IT industry, preferably in distribution.
  • Proven success in recruiting and enabling channel partners and driving revenue.
  • Strong understanding of data protection, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and independent worker.
  • Proficiency in CRM and sales management tools.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Relevant industry certifications.
