IT Governance - Regional Data Protection Analyst
Job Opening: Regional Data Protection Analyst (Governance)

Location: Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur
Salary: RM7,000 - RM10,000 + Statutory Contributions + Medical Coverage
Work Arrangement: Hybrid | Normal Office Hours

About the Role

We’re looking for a Regional Data Protection Analyst to safeguard our organization’s sensitive data across platforms and regions (SEA, JP & CN). You will develop and implement data protection strategies, manage tools like DLP and classification systems, and ensure full compliance with internal and external regulations.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Design and implement end-to-end data protection strategies

  • Manage and optimize Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and data classification tools

  • Collaborate with IT, Legal, and HR teams on data governance initiatives

  • Monitor data activities for breaches and unauthorized access

  • Stay ahead of emerging threats and update protection measures accordingly

  • Ensure compliance with global data privacy laws and internal policies

  • Lead data protection training and awareness efforts

  • Act as a trusted advisor on data privacy and compliance matters

About You
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, or related field

  • 5 years’ experience in cybersecurity or program delivery roles

  • Proven expertise in data protection, privacy, or compliance

  • Familiar with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, PDPA)

  • Analytical and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills

  • Certifications like CISSP, CISM are a plus

  • Comfortable engaging business stakeholders in a multinational environment

  • Independent, proactive, and a strong team collaborator

  • Able to communicate in Mandarin is an added advantage as China is strict with data leaks.
