Qualifications

Position: Health, Safety, Security & Environment Engineer

Location: Bayan Lepas, Penang

Responsibilities
  1. Assist in identifying risks and facilitate a proactive safety planning process.
  2. Maintain a healthy work environment in the CS area, including the plant room, ensuring safety and health standards are met.
  3. Comply with standards such as ISO 45001, 14001, RBA, and relevant management systems.
  4. Identify hazards, environmental aspects, and work practices; develop controls and coordinate their implementation.
  5. Evaluate the effectiveness of safety controls and procedures, recommending improvements.
  6. Investigate and report on safety performance, including accidents and occupational diseases.
  7. Coordinate safety activities as a management representative, including safety meetings.
  8. Develop and enforce safety procedures aligning with customer requirements and legal regulations.
  9. Facilitate EHS inductions and safety training for suppliers, contractors, and employees.
  10. Assist in occupational incident investigations.
  11. Monitor and communicate local EHS regulatory compliance.
  12. Implement corrective actions and suspend operations if necessary.
  13. Advise on workers' compensation claims related to workplace exposures.
  14. Stay updated on occupational health and safety legislation.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education
  1. Diploma or Degree in Environmental, Health and Safety, Engineering, or relevant fields.
  2. 1-2 years of related experience.
  3. Knowledge of Malaysian safety legislation (e.g., OSHA 1994, FMA).
  4. Registered Safety & Health Officer (DOSH) is an advantage.
Preferred Skills
  1. Good verbal and written English communication skills.
  2. Presentation skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  3. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  4. Own transportation.
