Job summary

Penguin Solutions in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Component & ECAD Library Engineer to support new product development and sustaining engineering by managing components and ECAD libraries. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or Mechatronics.
• 3–5 years of experience as a Component Engineer and ECAD librarian.
• Strong knowledge of electrical components with datasheets and PCNs.
• Familiarity with AVL management and obsolescence processes.
• Experience with PLM/SAP systems.
• Proficient in IPC standards and ECAD library validation.

Responsibilities

• Select and evaluate components based on technical, environmental, and application requirements.
• Assign and manage component part numbers per PN scheme.
• Maintain AVL accuracy and compliance, driving sourcing initiatives.
• Monitor component lifecycle (Active, NRND, EOL) and manage PCN/obsolescence impact.
• Support NPI and collaborate with design, procurement, quality, manufacturing, and suppliers.
• Create and validate schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D models.
• Maintain ECAD library standards, naming conventions and documentation.
• Review datasheets to develop accurate library components.
