Environmental Engineer, Environmental Sustainability Design

Department and Location

You will be part of our Buildings department, working within the multi-disciplinary Ramboll APAC team based in Malaysia. Your role involves supporting environmental sustainability initiatives across diverse projects throughout Asia, collaborating with Civil & Structural Engineering and SMART Building teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Identify new business opportunities, markets, and clients.
2. Research industry trends and analyze the sustainability design market and competitors.
3. Contribute to strategic planning and company growth objectives.
4. Develop and implement market entry strategies for sustainability consulting and ESG reporting in Asia-Pacific.
5. Lead green certification projects, liaising with stakeholders and certification bodies to secure approvals.
6. Prepare documentation and applications for green certifications.
7. Assess environmental performance of buildings, recommend improvements, and estimate high-level costs.
8. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to embed sustainable practices into projects.

Qualifications

Relevant experience in consulting, environmental assessments, or sustainability practices is advantageous, including:

• Conducting environmental impact assessments complying with Malaysian regulations.
• Developing sustainable policies balancing economic and environmental needs.
• Understanding environmental laws and regulations internationally and locally.
• Preparing sustainability reports and tracking environmental performance.
• Using environmental monitoring techniques for data collection.
• Creating educational programs to promote environmental awareness.
