Job Summary

The prime objective of the Analyst is to provide day-to-day servicing and administration of an assigned group of Syndicated facilities for which the Royal Bank of Canada is the Agent. This includes managing related loan drawings, fees, interest schedules, and the settlement of secondary assignments.

Job Description

Working Hours: 9AM-6PM

  1. Process secondary assignments, and where required primary assignments, upon requests for assigned Borrowers in accordance with established guidelines.
  2. Monitor the daily Settlement Date Coordination (SDC) Report for open trades and promptly update the status of all tickets, entering comments reflecting current settlement status in ClearPar (Timeline).
  3. Review trades to check if the Buyer is on the DQ list, is a Lender of record, or is an affiliate of a Lender of Record, and initiate the consent process if required.
  4. Verify that the Seller has sufficient inventory position or will have one by settling open trades on the same or prior settlement date.
  5. Review Affiliate Letters and sub-allocations for minimum hold/purchase requirements per the credit agreement.
  6. Select a settlement date not later than T+7 on the Settlement Date Coordination Report in ClearPar, considering delays due to Borrower consent, Issuing Bank consent, KYC pending, or Agent Freeze/holds.
  7. Coordinate the execution of the Assignment and Assumptions agreement and determine the Effective date in ClearPar.
  8. Record Lenders’ positions on ACBS on the Settlement Date as trades are made effective.
  9. Act as verification officer for ACBS two-touch transactions created by other Analysts.
  10. Post-closing, action primary assignments ensuring DQ lists are up to date.
  11. Ensure all transactions comply with KYC, AML guidelines, OFAC, FinCen, USA Patriot Act, and other sanctions.
  12. Meet or exceed service delivery expectations regarding quality and timeliness, aligned with department standards and market practices.
  13. Identify gaps in Agency processes and recommend improvements to minimize operational and reputational risks.
  14. Evaluate new IT developments and evolving business requirements, recommending system enhancements.
  15. Provide input during development and implementation of high-impact projects, including scope and objectives.
  16. Oversee the Secondary Syndicated Loan Process, including KPI analysis and external communications, acting as an escalation point.
  17. Serve as a backup to other Analysts, Syndicated Loan Trading Analysts, and Assistant Managers as needed.
  18. Monitor workload and assist in training new analysts, including preparing training schedules and conducting on-the-job training.
