Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for ensuring the successful performance of the supply and delivery chain for an assigned portfolio of products within the region, as part of the Market Planning Hub (MPH). The incumbent will serve as the MPH point of contact for the assigned portfolio during market forums.

  • Accountable for supply assurance of the assigned product portfolio.
  • Responsible for inventory planning and coordination of inventory deployment for the assigned products.
  • Support completion of product change lifecycle management activities requiring supply input.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with manufacturing sites, acting as the point of contact for queries or action plans related to the assigned products.
  • Assist the Supply Planning Manager in resolving escalated issues.
  • Participate in MPH-market demand and supply review meetings.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supply Assurance (for assigned product portfolio):

  • Continuously monitor and ensure the supply of the assigned product portfolio to the represented markets.
  • Proactively identify supply risks, update supply outlooks, and escalate risks to the Supply Manager.
  • Communicate to resolve supply issues with stakeholders using standard processes (e.g., e-alerts, weekly calls with markets and plants).
  • Understand demand drivers and supply implications from forecast changes and proposed transportation mode changes.

Inventory Management and Deployment:

  • Analyze inventory performance versus budget and develop action plans to meet targets.
  • Perform root cause analysis of inventory deviations and drivers, and define improvement plans.
  • Minimize inventory write-offs by monitoring shelf-life/expiry dates and actively improving processes to avoid obsolescence.

Product Change Management (for assigned product portfolio):

  • Support product change activities such as line extensions, artwork changes, discontinuations, and loss of exclusivity, ensuring achievement of business objectives, service levels, costs, and working capital targets.

Point of Contact for Sites:

  • Serve as the primary contact for manufacturing sites regarding supply issues, resolution plans, and inventory for the assigned products.

EDUCATION:

  • Degree in Supply Chain or Logistics Management.
  • APICS training or certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in supply chain-related fields, preferably in the pharmaceutical or chemical industry.

Preferred Technical Skills:

  • Understanding of pharmaceutical industry dynamics, trends, and regulatory processes.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations and global product flows.
  • Familiarity with market practices, local logistics, and the business environment.
  • Experience participating in ERP/system implementations.

Preferred Key Capabilities:

  • Ability to quickly understand complex situations with many moving parts.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and reporting tools (e.g., Rapid Response, Business Intelligence).
  • Strong analytical skills to identify patterns, root causes, and draw conclusions.
  • Good decision-making skills based on analysis, experience, and judgment.
  • Effective collaboration and relationship-building across geographies and organizational levels.
  • Ability to prioritize within a portfolio.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, tailored to different stakeholders.
