Job description

· Assist the Sector Head (SH) in undertaking waterworks projects.

· Assist the Sector Head (SH) in performing all necessary duties from the preliminary/ conceptual design stage until project completion.

2. Design and Drawing Preparation

· Give comments, guidance, advice and input in feasibility study, design brief, schematic and detailed design of waterworks systems such as intakes, water treatment plants, pumping/transmission mains, balancing and service reservoirs, distribution mains etc.

· Assist in commenting, guide and advice on technical aspects like pipe hydraulics, pipe profiling, route selections etc.

· Assist in commenting, guide and advice on the sketch drawings with sufficient details to enable a draftsperson to produce satisfactory detailed drawings as required for tender, construction or other purposes.

· Assist in commenting, guide and advice on the design calculations in accordance with all relevant codes and standards.

· Give guidance and advice on the content of Tender Specification by following the Standard Technical Guidelines and relevant codes.

4. Business Development

· Build and maintain good relationship with Client.

· Give comments and advice on the consultancy Expression of Interest and Consultancy Proposal.

5. Training and Capacity Building

· Review Subordinates’ and peers’ output and provide guidance to Subordinates

· Act as mentor to Subordinates.

· Conduct on-the-job training for subordinates.

· Develop capabilities in specialist/niche field of consultancy services undertaken by Waterworks Sector.

6. Others

· Attend meetings and coordinate with all other internal and external design team members.

· Liaise with relevant Authorities for submission and approval of all drawings and documents.

· Carry out periodic site supervision as necessary to ensure works are installed in accordance with contract documentation and good engineering practice.

· Participate in company’s activities including corporate social responsibility activities.

· To carry out all tasks related to Minconsult’s operation as directed.

Requirements

Degree in Civil/Chemical Engineering recognized by Board of Engineers, Malaysia (BEM).

Registered with BEM as a Professional Engineer with Practicing Certificate (PEPC).

Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a consultancy environment and minimum of 5 years is in leading a team in undertaking big projects

Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize workloads and meet timelines..

Good interpersonal skills and driven results.

A good team player.

Good command of written and spoken English. Able to write and speak Bahasa Malaysia
