Job description

Our client is an established renewable energy company. Currently they are looking for a passionate professional to join them as the Lead Testing & Commissioning Engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of ~10 engineers, technicians, and OEM reps per project.
• Develop and implement detailed testing & commissioning (T&C) plans for utility-scale solar PV plants.
• Lead I-V curve tracing and coordinate OEM reps for pre-, cold, and hot commissioning.
• Execute hands-on T&C of SCADA, PPC, EMS, communication, and electrical systems.
• Conduct PV performance and acceptance tests; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Analyze test data and prepare detailed reports.
• Ensure full compliance with safety regulations and enforce safe work practices.
• Conduct pre/post-work safety briefings.
• Validate workmanship during Erection Completion walkdowns.
• Review subcontractor test reports for compliance with project and grid requirements.
• Ensure all systems meet commissioning specifications.
• Liaise with grid authorities, clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Provide progress reports and maintain accurate T&C records.

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering (Electrical/Power Systems preferred).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in solar PV commissioning.
• Solid knowledge of solar PV, electrical systems, SCADA, and data analysis.
• Familiar with relevant standards in Malaysia, Philippines, and ANZ.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical abilities.
• Proficient in English and Malay (written & verbal); Google Workspace/Microsoft Office.
• Willing to travel or relocate.
• Excellent in networking, negotiation, and time management.
