Job Purpose
The IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity Manager is responsible for ensuring the organization’s IT infrastructure and cybersecurity measures are robust, secure, and aligned with industry standards to support smooth business operations. This role involves managing and optimizing servers and network infrastructure, implementing cybersecurity frameworks, and leading the IT Infrastructure and Technical Services Professional Support (SPS) teams. The manager will support the CIO in strategic decision-making, particularly in infrastructure planning, technology upgrades, and security protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain a sustainable IT infrastructure architecture to ensure high availability and performance, including data centers, servers, networking equipment, storage, backup, and recovery systems. Provide continuous support across all locations and departments.
- Review and enhance servers, networking systems, workstations, and IT assets to meet performance, compatibility, security, and regulatory standards. Oversee updates and upgrades to prevent obsolescence.
- Develop and enforce cybersecurity frameworks and protocols to prevent and mitigate threats. Lead monitoring initiatives, analyze logs, and respond proactively to suspicious activities. Conduct root cause analysis and implement remedies.
- Establish IT policies on infrastructure and cybersecurity governance in collaboration with the CIO. Develop procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Manage SLAs for incident and request resolution. Continuously improve team performance in responding to IT issues.
- Recommend and lead hardware refreshes, upgrades, and replacements. Ensure infrastructure components are up-to-date and secure.
- Oversee IT asset management across the organization, maintaining accurate records and proper disposal or repurposing.
- Coordinate with departments on IT projects, communicate technical requirements, and support infrastructure management and governance.
- Build and develop a skilled infrastructure team, fostering continuous learning, coaching, and performance management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Advanced certifications (CEH, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA, CCNA) are highly preferred.
- 8-10 years of experience in IT infrastructure and cybersecurity, preferably within large organizations.
- Proficiency in network, server, appliances configuration, cybersecurity frameworks, and monitoring tools.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams.
- For West Malaysian candidates open to relocation: fixed-term contract (renewable) for under 2 years.
- For Sarawakian candidates: permanent employment.
