We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Expert in Fixed Wireless, Microwave, and Satellite Communications to join our team. In this senior-level role, you will lead and support the design, development, and implementation of advanced communication systems with a focus on fixed wireless, microwave, and satellite technologies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest level of system performance, reliability, and scalability, while contributing to strategic decisions and technology roadmaps.

This role requires a deep understanding of fixed wireless technologies, microwave communication systems, satellite systems, RF engineering, signal processing, and the ability to drive innovation in communication technologies. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert with a proven track record in leading complex communication projects and mentoring junior engineers.

What are you accountable for?

• Lead the design, development, and optimisation of cutting-edge fixed wireless, microwave, and satellite communication systems, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Provide expert-level guidance on the application of fixed wireless technologies (e.g., LTE-A, WiMAX, Fixed Broadband solutions), microwave communication systems (e.g., point-to-point, point-to-multipoint), and satellite communication protocols (e.g., GEO, MEO, LEO, DVB-S2).
• Develop and implement signal processing algorithms and models to enhance communication quality and data throughput for both terrestrial fixed wireless, microwave, and satellite networks.
• Oversee the integration of satellite, microwave, and fixed wireless communication systems with terrestrial networks, ensuring interoperability and hybrid communication solutions.
• Collaborate with product development, network engineering, and systems integration teams to meet customer and operational requirements.
• Contribute to the development of technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and white papers.
• Stay current with emerging technologies in fixed wireless, microwave, and satellite communications, and evaluate their potential applications to our products and services.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior engineers, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
• Conduct advanced troubleshooting, performance analysis, and optimisation of communication systems in both lab and field environments.
• Engage with external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, partners, and customers, to ensure compliance and to drive the adoption of new technologies.

What do you need to have for the role?

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in fixed wireless, microwave, and satellite communications, with at least 5 years in a senior role.
• In-depth knowledge of fixed wireless technologies (e.g., LTE-A, WiMAX, Fixed Broadband solutions), microwave communication systems (e.g., point-to-point, point-to-multipoint), and satellite communication systems (e.g., GEO, MEO, LEO, DVB-S2).
• Expertise in RF engineering, including spectrum management, propagation models, antenna systems, and microwave technology for both fixed wireless and satellite applications.
• Strong background in signal processing algorithms and techniques for fixed wireless, microwave, and satellite communication systems.
• Familiarity with network architecture and protocols, including IP networking, SDN, and NFV in relation to microwave, fixed wireless, and satellite systems.
• Demonstrated experience in system integration, testing, and performance optimisation for fixed wireless, microwave, and satellite communication systems in real-world environments.
• Proficiency in simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, or other RF tools) and signal analysis software.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers.

Preferred Industry Certifications

• Certified Fixed Wireless Specialist: Certification focused on the design, deployment, and troubleshooting of fixed wireless access systems (e.g., LTE Fixed Wireless, WiMAX).
• Microwave Transmission Specialist Certification: Certification focused on the design, deployment, and troubleshooting of microwave communication systems, including point-to-point and point-to-multipoint solutions.
• Certified Satellite Communications Professional (CSCP): Demonstrates expertise in satellite communications systems and technologies.
• Certified RF Engineer (CRE): Focuses on RF system design, testing, and troubleshooting, relevant to microwave, fixed wireless, and satellite communications.
• SATCOM Certifications (e.g., Global VSAT Forum (GVF) Certification): Recognized in the satellite communications industry, demonstrating proficiency in satellite technologies and services, including installation, maintenance, and operations.
• 5G Certification (e.g., 5G Certification by the Global Certification Forum (GCF)): For expertise in 5G technologies, deployment, and integration.
• Satellite System Certification (e.g., Satellite Communication System Engineering Certification): Relevant for professionals working with satellite system architecture, operations, and integration.
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Wireless: Recognized certification for professionals with advanced knowledge in fixed wireless network planning, installation, and troubleshooting.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) (optional but preferred): For individuals seeking to lead large-scale communication projects and teams effectively.
• Network+ or CompTIA Wireless+ Certification: Foundational certifications in networking and fixed wireless communication technologies.
