Job description

Assess patients' speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing skills.

  1. Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient goals.
  2. Provide therapy to patients with speech, language, voice, and swallowing disorders.
  3. Collaborate closely with physicians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic care.
  4. Educate patients and family members on treatment plans, home exercises, and strategies for improvement.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
  6. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient care planning.
  7. Conduct therapy sessions individually or in group settings, as needed.
  8. Engage in continuous professional development and training to maintain best practices.
  9. Support hospital initiatives related to patient care, safety, and quality improvement.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology / Speech Therapy from a recognized institution.
  2. Registered with the Malaysian Association of Speech-Language and Hearing (MASH) or other recognized professional bodies.
  3. Minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience (new graduates are welcome to apply; training will be provided).
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  5. Compassionate, patient-centered, and proactive approach.
  6. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  7. Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia. Proficiency in additional languages (e.g., Mandarin, Tamil) is an advantage.
