This position involves the installation, service, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electronic and electromechanical equipment, as well as site service and field process applications. The role requires operating as an independent product expert on select EVG product lines, implementing detailed customer installation plans, and training customer personnel on equipment operation and maintenance. The technician provides onsite technical support for equipment and process applications, trains customers and other engineers, and maintains detailed logs and records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide professional, courteous service aiming for complete customer satisfaction.
- Assist in identifying and repairing equipment-related process issues.
- Perform onsite preventive maintenance, cleaning, and operational verification of equipment.
- Conduct start-up, warranty, paid service, and service contract activities, including hardware setup within established timeframes.
- Inform management of equipment issues and downtime, report activities accordingly.
- Utilize troubleshooting skills to resolve issues and minimize downtime, ensuring equipment operates efficiently.
- Work overtime or travel on short notice, including unscheduled call-outs and shifts.
- Troubleshoot and correct process variations, diagnose hardware or process problems.
- Recommend actions, stay aware of potential issues, and inform management promptly.
- Prepare and conduct customer meetings, communicate professionally via email, phone, and face-to-face.
- Complete all paperwork and maintain equipment logs accurately and promptly.
- Travel domestically and internationally up to 20%, with a valid passport.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Initiate purchase orders for parts and services.
- Maintain and repair company demo cleanroom equipment.
- Stay informed and trained on current systems, methods, procedures, and safety standards.

Qualifications / Education / Skills and Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in a related engineering field, with at least 4 years of experience in installing and repairing semiconductor equipment.
- Advanced electromechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of statistical process control and quality improvement methods.
- Ability to identify and solve advanced process-related system issues.
- Strong communication and professional conduct with all levels of management, personnel, and customers.
- Proficiency in PC skills.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to stand, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and lift/move up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity necessary.
- Must wear cleanroom attire and work inside the fab/cleanroom up to 75% of the time.
- Undergo 5-6 months of training in HQ Austria and on-the-job training abroad before permanent placement in Penang.
