Continuous Improvement Manager
Job Description
About the Role:
As the Continuous Improvement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing initiatives to enhance operational and organizational efficiency and effectiveness within our brand-new factory in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Your key responsibilities encompass driving efficiency, enhancing processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
You will work closely across multiple departments to identify and analyze areas for improvement, develop strategies, implement changes to streamline processes and reduce waste, foster a culture of innovation and improvement aligned with business goal and objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Operations: Lead and oversees continuous improvement activities including evaluate current processes to identify areas for improvement including perform cost and benefit analysis; create improvement action plans and strategies; organizes, lead and facilitate cross-functional teams in implementing improvement projects ensure aligned with business goal and objectives; develop metric enable track, monitor and provide regular updates on project progress and results; develop and implement continuous improvement policies and procedures.
- Data Analysis: Conduct surveys and analyze best practices of improvement methodologies, tools and techniques such as Lean, Six Sigma, or other improvement frameworks to assess current processes, develop improvement strategies and measure the impact of improvement initiatives.
- Foster Continuous Improvement Culture: Promote culture of continuous improvement through delivering guidance and training courses on improvement methodologies, tools and techniques including re-engineering, measurement, analysis, improvement and control.
- Documentation and communication: Develop and maintain accurate document update with latest improvement as well as communicate effectively to the involved stakeholder including management.
- People Management: Recruiting, developing, evaluating, motivating and retaining team to optimize their talent and maximize the efficient operation of the function.
- Strategy and Leadership: Develop and implement both short term (1 year) and long term (3 – 5 year) continuous improvement roadmap for Brook’s global manufacturing.
- Key Performance Indicator: Own and drive department metric set including safety, quality, cost and productivity.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or a related field with 10+ years of related work experience in a similar role, ideally within the semiconductor capital equipment or related high-tech, manufacturing industry.
- Lean and Six Sigma certified. In-depth knowledge of other improvement frameworks is a plus.
- Proven track record of successful continuous improvement strategy and execution.
- Well-versed in Project Management, data analytical tools, coaching and training.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills, change management skills and people management experience in leading a team.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both shop floor settings and at executive reviews.
- High energy with the desire to drive change and create a world class manufacturing operation.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Understanding budgeting, cost management, and financial factors is essential for making decisions balancing cost with service quality.
