Job description
  • Develops event and banquet sales goals strategies and ensure alignment with the brand business strategy at Casuarina Meru/assigned business unit.
  • Executes the event and banquet sales strategy plan for Casuarina Meru and assigned business unit under the Hospitality and Tourism.
  • Accountable for meeting the event and banquet sales target for Casuarina Meru and other assigned business unit.
  • To ensure on following up event/payment status for the Casuarina Meru and assigned business units.
  • To achieve revenue on event and banquet for the financial year as agreed and predetermined by the management.
  • Ensure the development of a strategic key account clients in the market.
  • To provides market intelligence in evaluating the market economic trends that may lead to changes in sales strategy to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • To develops strong partnership with local organizations to further increase brand/product awareness.
  • To recommend appropriate policies regarding event and banquet pricing, promotion, product and market evaluations and marketing plans.
  • To work closely with PR team and provide them information and content for promotion purposes.
  • To proactively review/propose marketing ideas, development strategies and execution in expanding the company's market share together with Strategic Communication and Branding Manager.
  • Coaches’ subordinates in developing effective revenue strategies and setting aggressive goals that will drive the company's and assigned business units events and banquet sales performance.
  • To actively participate in the budgeting and forecasting process so that input is available ensuring targets are achievable.
  • To operate within annual budget guidelines, monitoring and controlling, on an ongoing basis, departmental cost to ensure performance against budget so to maximum revenue and ensure profitability is achieved for the hotel.
  • To prepare statistical performance as necessary and to monitor market trends and competitive set, monitor and evaluate as necessary.
  • To maintain proper records and filing system.
  • To submit monthly departmental report in an agreed format by the management of the hotel and other assigned business units.
  • To oversee the sales business plans under the brand of Casuarina, to ensure the consistency and uniformity of the hospitality and tourism are maintained. 
  • However, the scope of work for the policies listed above will be added or reduced from time to time as appropriate. You do not have the right to dispute any additions or deficiencies will be determined by the company.

JOB REQUIREMENT

  • Candidate must possess at least Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Marketing / Business Administration or a related field.
  • More than 10 years of experience in a senior sales role, with prior hotel sales experience.
  • Experience working collaboratively with revenue management.
  • Well rounded knowledge of all market segments and channel sources, as well as ability to develop a strategic plan for each.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to direct, lead, train, motivate and drive a direct sales team, and develop a cooperative and competitive team spirit and winning attitude. 
  • Experiencing in managing hotel departments, understanding of hospitality industry standards, and a proven track record in improving guest satisfaction are crucial.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with fluency in English.
  • Self-starter, goal oriented, eye for details and has an ability to drive change.
  • Responsible, reliable and committed.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Casuarina Convention Centre is a pillarless ballroom and currently is the biggest in Ipoh. It can be divided into 3 separate halls, each with its own mobile stage. It is suitable for convention, exhibitions, seminars, conference, trade fairs, wedding, etc. It can easily accommodate 1,000 to 2,500 persons depending on the type of functions being carried out.
