Responsibilities
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with production schedules and company objectives.
- Analyze material requirements based on forecasts and production demands.
- Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with reliable suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and conditions to ensure favorable agreements.
- Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Cost Optimization:
- Conduct market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and trends in raw materials.
- Implement strategies to reduce procurement costs without compromising quality.
- Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with the quality control team to ensure all purchased items meet industry standards and company specifications.
- Address and resolve any supplier quality issues promptly.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams for efficient storage and delivery.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and environmental standards in all purchasing activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, contracts, and supplier certifications.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with engineering, production, and finance teams to align procurement with operational goals.
- Support new product development initiatives by sourcing required components and materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and supply chain logistics is a plus.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail-oriented, with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
