A leading recruitment firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to oversee finance operations across its Malaysia HQ and Korea branch. This role involves managing full sets of accounts, ensuring tax compliance, and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in a multinational environment and familiarity with SAP, along with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Senior Accountant (Malaysia HQ & Korea Branch)
We are seeking a capable and experienced Senior Finance Executive to manage full-spectrum finance and accounting responsibilities across our Malaysia head office and Korea branch. This is a highly autonomous, hands-on role reporting directly to the Regional Finance Manager based in Jakarta. The ideal candidate will have experience in a multinational corporate environment and strong knowledge of financial reporting, tax compliance, and SAP.
Key Responsibilities – Malaysia Head Office:
Handle full sets of accounts including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL).
Perform month-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
Manage intercompany accounting, including notices of accruals and reconciliations.
Prepare and consolidate quarterly reports in accordance with corporate standards (e.g. IFRS 16).
Support external audits conducted by a Big Four audit firm.
Ensure tax compliance, including preparation of tax returns, tax estimates, withholding tax, service tax, and transfer pricing documentation.
Prepare quarterly reports for national authorities (e.g. IIP) and respond to statistical surveys.
Lead or assist in the implementation of E-Invoicing.
Key Responsibilities – Korea Branch:
Oversee all financial processes as listed above, applied to branch operations in Korea.
Coordinate the invoice and expense claim approval process, ensuring adherence to internal policies.
Compile and submit VAT returns, corporate income tax returns, and CBCR reports, in collaboration with external tax agents in Korea.
Liaise with the branch’s HR function to ensure timely statutory payments for foreign personnel.
Requirements:
Strong hands-on experience with full sets of accounts and regional finance operations.
High level of autonomy and accountability.
Prior experience working within a large multinational company, ideally within a complex matrix structure.
Willingness to travel occasionally to Korea and/or Indonesia as required.
Familiarity with SAP is preferred.
Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work across multiple geographies and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
