A leading energy technology company is seeking a Head of Operational Purchasing to oversee supply chain management, optimize logistics, and ensure timely delivery. The day begins by reviewing the current supplier’s performance using a standardized and global approach, with a clear focus on the most critical suppliers. You also check on the progress of delivery recovery plans of the most critical components.
Later in the morning, you meet the Head of Commodity Strategy to highlight supplier performance issues and discuss mitigation measures or escalation needs. You provide a quick briefing to task forces on the status of critical components and receive information on changes in customer delivery requirements.
In the afternoon, you have a call with the leadership team of a critical supplier, such as the General Manager, and his direct reports, which performance is currently below the contractual agreed KPIs. Together with internal customers, current supply challenges are reviewed and impacts on the delivery schedules are reported.
The day concludes with the preparation of a status update for the next review with the segment leadership, covering priority issues across the blades and vanes supply chain and outlining plans for their resolution.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Overseeing and managing BV's overall supply chain across two global locations, incl. operational procurement, MRP controlling, warehousing, demand planning and final delivery to internal customers
Supporting Siemens Energy’s growth plan by stringently executing contracts, following up on capacity expansion initiatives, optimizing logistics and ensuring on-time delivery
Establishing supplier relationships with key supplier representatives (e.g. General Managers), driving escalations with suppliers
Developing and introducing a state-of-the-art global procurement process landscape and KPIs in alignment with Central Procurement guidelines and other cross-functional teams
Building and developing an inter-cultural, high-performing operative procurement team, which “owns” the supply chain
What You Bring
Experience in Supply Chain Management: Typically, 10+ years of experience in supply chain leadership position incl. logistics, planning, trade compliance, inventory and warehouse management
Leadership and Team Management: Focused, driven and empathetic leadership skills cultivating an ownership culture and “One Team” mindset in collaboration with cross-functions. Passion to establish a driven and highly motivated team
Industry-Specific Experience: Experience in the blades and vanes supply chain industry and familiarity with blades and vanes products can be advantageous
Vendor and Supplier Management: Experience in building and managing supplier relationships and ensuring supplier performance meets SE expectations
Communication Skills and Strategic Thinking: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Strong decision-making skills, especially under pressure. Ability to implement supply chain strategies that align with the company's overall business goals
Project Management: Proven track record of leading and implementing complex supply chain projects and initiatives. Experience in developing and introducing procurement processes in a global organization including alignment across different locations
Prior or current experience with Siemens Energy's processes, customers, software, and equipment is preferred.
