Tenby Schools Setia Eco Gardens is comprised of Tenby International School Setia Eco Gardens which offers a British education up to the IGCSE level, and Sekolah Tenby Setia Eco Gardens which offers the Malaysian National Curriculum at the Secondary level. ISP in Malaysia

ISP operates Asia Pacific Schools, Straits International Schools and Tenby Schools where we are strategically located covering the Klang Valley, Perak, Penang and Johor within Malaysia. Purpose of Role

We are looking for an experienced music teacher to be responsible for teaching music as part of the school curriculum. The music teacher will follow the guidelines as set out by the education department which includes the theory and practice of general music, singing, and playing musical instruments. They should also prepare students for exams in music.

To be successful as a music teacher, you should create an enjoyable learning environment to inspire young minds and help them grow in appreciation of music. Ultimately, a top-notch music teacher should be skilled in playing musical instruments, planning concerts for student participation, and creating after-school music clubs.

ISP TeacherKey Responsibilities

  • Teaching general styles of music.
  • Teaching classical piano, practical, and theory.
  • Teaching singing to students from beginner to advanced level.
  • Incorporating musical instruments and movement in lessons.
  • Planning and implementing a program of instruction and lesson plans.
  • Preparing students for school concerts and planned music experiences.
  • Preparing students for practical and exams.
  • Inspiring and motivating students to extend themselves to after-school music clubs.
  • Building relationships and mentoring students.

Skills,Qualifications, and Experience

Skills:

  • Musical Proficiency: Expertise in playing and teaching various musical instruments, particularly piano and vocal training.
  • Instructional Skills: Ability to develop and deliver engaging and effective music lessons.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Creativity: Innovative in lesson planning and incorporating different teaching methods to make learning enjoyable.
  • Patience and Adaptability: Ability to work with students of varying ages and skill levels, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
  • Organizational Skills: Efficient in planning lessons, preparing students for performances, and managing classroom activities.
  • Mentorship: Capability to inspire and mentor students, fostering their musical growth and personal development.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to enhance the overall educational experience.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: A degree in Music Education or a related field.
  • Teaching Certification: Relevant teaching certifications or credentials, if applicable.
  • Specialized Training: Additional training or certifications in specific areas of music, such as piano or vocal instruction, is a plus.

Experience:

  • Teaching Experience: Proven experience in teaching music, including both practical and theoretical aspects.
  • Performance Experience: Experience in performing music, either as a soloist or as part of an ensemble, to provide real-world insights to students.
  • Event Preparation: Experience in organizing and preparing students for concerts, recitals, and other musical events.
  • Exam Preparation: Experience in preparing students for music exams and practical assessments.
