OVERVIEW:
The ideal applicant would have strong knowledge of injection tooling processes, excellent tooling design experience, and development skills. Problem-solving and good documentation skills are also required. The candidate must speak and write English proficiently. Global manufacturing experience is desired, and willingness to travel is required.

Responsibilities:
- Travel to OEM, tooling supplier, and molding shop sites for injection molding issue resolution, technical supplier assessment, process development, validation, or issue resolution.
- Review and improve DFM with NPD, NPI, OEM engineering, tooling suppliers, and cross-project teams.
- Review and improve 2D & 3D tooling drawings with OEM and tooling suppliers.
- Design and evaluate complex tooling structures, including multi-color tooling and tooling with hot runner systems, demonstrating strong tooling concepts.
- Analyze tooling capacity and yield issues, driving root cause corrective actions across internal and supplier factories.
- Estimate tooling capacity based on molding data and develop duplicated tools to meet production ramp-up plans.
- Monitor tooling build and modification processes to ensure schedules are met.
- Address and resolve sudden tooling and molding issues at suppliers with effective solutions.
- Travel to internal supplier sites to support process development and issue resolution, with 40-50% travel expected.
- Ensure timely task delivery, meeting performance, quality, and reliability goals.
- Participate in Critical Engineering Reviews to ensure product and process design suitability for tooling and molding.
Required Skills/Qualifications / Experience:
- 5-10 years of experience in plastics engineering, molding design engineering, or mechanical engineering, with expertise in plastic tooling design and project management.
- Proficiency in Pro/E, AutoCAD, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Strong technical and interpersonal skills to collaborate across different functions.
Education/Certifications/Affiliations:
- Bachelor of Engineering
- CET-4 (College English Test 4)
Travel Requirements:
- Travel to China and Southeast Asia supplier factories required.
