Job description

Job Summary

Support the Group’s Volcker Compliance Programme by monitoring covered fund activities, assessing new business proposals, and working with legal, risk, and business teams to ensure compliance with US regulatory obligations. Ideal for candidates with compliance, legal, or investment governance experience looking to deepen expertise in global regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor Volcker compliance activities and maintain related registers.
  • Assess and support approvals for new Group activities impacting covered funds.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (including Front Office, Legal, COO, CFCC, and Risk) on policy and control matters.
  • Provide awareness and conduct training sessions.
  • Support IT UAT testing and data monitoring initiatives.
Regulatory & Business Conduct

Responsible for embedding the highest standards of work ethics in day-to-day activities, including ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and the Group Code of Conduct. Accountable for identifying, escalating, and mitigating potential risks that could negatively impact the Bank’s shareholder value or reputation.

Key Stakeholders

Financial markets, Global Banking, Corporate Banking, Group Corporate Development, SC Ventures, and Group Corporate Secretariat.

Skills and Experience
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Strong background in compliance, legal, or investment governance
  • Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Strong communicator with multi-stakeholder experience
  • Team player with positive attitude for learning, detail-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Volcker-specific knowledge is preferred but not mandatory
Role Specific Technical Competencies
  • Good understanding of financial markets and products
  • Experience in relevant regulatory compliance
  • Ability to interpret complex data and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to analyze ownership interests based on term sheets or transaction information
  • Ability to reconcile shareholding information across the Group
  • Skill in identifying red flags and critically challenging complex structures
  • Persistent in following through and rectifying risk items
  • Good communication skills to explain compliance issues to stakeholders
