Job summary

A leading company in the property development sector is seeking a Tax Manager to oversee tax-related work for various entities. The role involves managing corporate tax, indirect tax, and transfer pricing, ensuring compliance while liaising with accountants and tax agents. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of relevant experience, preferably within a Big 4 firm. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant Malaysia tax experience, preferably in a Big 4 firm or in Property Development.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and be proactive.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in reviewing corporate tax computations and liaising with accountants.
  • Monitor tax laws and regulations, sharing updates with accountants.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to tax.

Requirements
Job Purpose

Manage tax-related work for the relevant entities within the Group. This includes corporate tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing, capital gains tax, etc.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Assist in reviewing corporate tax computations and returns, liaising with accountants and tax agents for information required for tax compliance.
  2. Assist in reviewing provisional tax computations for revised tax estimates.
  3. Assist in reviewing withholding tax and service tax filings.
  4. Assist in liaising with IRB on tax credit set-offs, refunds, and appeals.
  5. Assist in handling tax queries during audits or investigations.
  6. Assist in updating the transfer pricing documentation for the Group.
  7. Assist in ad-hoc tax projects through initial tax research.
  8. Monitor tax laws and regulations, sharing updates with accountants.
  9. Manage administrative tasks, processes, and systems related to tax.
  10. Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or Economics.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant Malaysia tax experience, preferably in a Big 4 firm or in the Property Development / Real Estate industry.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, be proactive, and demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
