A Finance & Accounts Manager oversees and directs all aspects of a company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial management. This role involves managing accounting operations, reviewing financial statements, budgeting, and ensuring regulatory compliance. You also play a key role in providing strategic financial guidance and collaborating with other departments to align financial strategies with company goals.
You are required to possess a strategic mindset with strong financial, project, and commercial acumen.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial Reporting and Management: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and presentations for management or the Board of Directors.
- Financial Analysis and Strategy: Analyze monthly reports, including variance analysis, cost control, and profitability trends to drive business performance and support decision-making.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Prepare yearly budgets, conduct monthly analysis of Budget vs Actual reports, and project/forecast for new projects or potential investments.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure adherence to accounting standards, tax and regulatory requirements, internal policies, and oversee year-end audit preparations and e-invoicing.
- Cash Flow Management: Ensure appropriate cash flow to meet business needs, including managing bank balances and cash flow projections. Responsible for project & business alliance financing.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of finance personnel.
- System and Procedure Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to financial systems and procedures.
- Contract Review: Review financial-related contracts, e.g., purchase of machinery, assets, property, in collaboration with the legal department.
- Manufacturing Accounts and Project Costing
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
- Process Improvement: Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Candidate must possess at least a Professional Degree in Finance/Accountancy.
- Professional certifications like ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or MIA are advantageous.
- At least 7-10 years of managerial experience, preferably with an audit background and from a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with MYOB & AutoAccount is preferable.
- Good communication and presentation skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin.
- Able to handle a full set of accounts; knowledge in cost counting and control is a plus.
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills, capable of working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
