A leading company in the Marine and Offshore industries is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee factory operations. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with quality standards, manage production schedules, and optimize resource utilization. Responsibilities include cost control, staff supervision, and maintaining safety regulations. This role requires strong leadership and a degree in relevant fields.
Manage overall factory operations to ensure timely delivery, cost control, and quality performance.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 45001, 14001.
Plan, schedule, and monitor production activities and optimize resource utilization.
Ensure all production and delivery outputs meet internal and customer quality specifications.
Monitor operations overhead costs, waste reduction, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and operational plans.
Perform competency assessments to identify learning & development needs.
Perform other related duties as assigned by your superior.
Supervise and mentor production supervisors and line staff.
Set performance goals and develop talent through training and coaching.
Foster a collaborative and disciplined workforce culture.
Ensure full compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994, Factories and Machinery Act 1967, and all DOSH-mandated standards.
Maintain the 5S standard as stipulated by the company for workplace health and safety.
Coordinate with the Safety and Health Committee, conduct HIRARC, and ensure all accidents are reported and investigated according to DOSH procedures.
Maintain compliance with Malaysian labor laws, environmental standards, and safety regulations.
Liaise with TLP, DOSH, DOE, MOHR, and other relevant authorities for licensing, audits, and inspections.
Prepare and submit reports as required by regulators.
Manage and ensure compliance with Malaysian Customs regulations for import/export operations and LMW:
Oversee the preparation and accuracy of customs declarations (K1, K2, K8 forms, etc.).
Ensure adherence to HS code classification, import duty and sales tax regulations, and tariff schedules.
Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs agents, and relevant government agencies.
Ensure timely application and renewal of relevant permits.
Maintain compliance with procedures related to RMCD (Royal Malaysian Customs Department) audits or inspections.
Manage the plant's operational budget and identify cost-saving measures.
